Curacao cuisine

Curacao cuisine

Local food in Curacao is called Krioyo (pronounced criollo) and is best compared to Caribbean cuisine and Latin American cuisine. The same dishes can be found in Aruba and Bonaire as well. Some of the most popular dishes are stoba (a stew made with various ingredients such as papaya, beef or goat meal), Guiambo (soup made from okra and seafood), Kadushi (cactus soup) and Sopi mondongo (intestine soup). When you consider your dining options, you should keep in mind your plans and your vacation itinerary. If you will be very active during your trip, you can opt for quick and inexpressive meals. Families may opt for pizza or other foods that can be enjoyed by adults and children as well. Couples looking for a quiet dinner with a romantic ambiance might opt to enjoy a bottle of wine at one of the island’s nicer establishments. The Curacao cuisine is a blend of Portuguese, Dutch and Caribbean flavors, very tasteful, with hints from other international fare mixed, such as Indian...

Lily is the editor and mentor of the Travel Blog “Apaixonados por Viagens” which means “Passionate about Travelling” in English. In August 2015, Lily sent me an email introducing herself as a blogger for Booking.com, where she found my apartments listed as Ocean Sky Apartments. She was planning a trip to Curacao and was looking for a romantic place to stay on the island. You can imagine my excitement when Lily choose to stay in my apartment, Ocean Sky. Lily wrote about her experience on Dushi Korsou, (sweet Curacao) as we locals like to call our island. We were pleased to read her sincere opinion about the experience that she had while staying in our apartment and the resort. In her review, you will find a very detailed description of Ocean Sky, a story that has a different approach...
